Give to Turtle Way on May 12-13

Your donation to the School of Living in the Centre Gives Campaign (May 12th and 13th) will allow us at Turtle Way to offer programs on sustainability, community building, and the creative arts to the Centre County community in which everyone is welcome no matter their means. Additionally, your donation will help fund honorariums for the Turtle Way organizers and professional instructors.

Last year we offered programs about yoga in nature, gardening skills, intuitive development, print making, hypertufa vessel making, ecstatic dance, and watercolor painting by the pond, to name only a few. This year we plan to offer programs about harvesting wild food, cooking from the garden, tiny house building, community music making, yogic breath work, and a weekend retreat exploring sources of personal happiness.

Turtle Way’s Mission:

Our intention is to inspire creativity, healing, community and heart-centered experiences in arts and nature through workshops, retreats, performances, exhibits, and other programs and events. Art & nature: healing from the heart through nature and art

Turtle Way is a project of the School of Living.

The turtle reminds us to slow down, appreciate life and the simple things,
and the knowing that our home is always with us.

Turtle Way is a creative community project offered through the
School of Living.
Turtle Way was inspired by the artist and former president of the School of Living,
the late John Mangan.

Some think of Turtle Way as a big shell where we can come together co-creating our experiences, teaching and learning, gathering skills and information and enriching our lives through art, nature, peace of mind and inspiration!

Under the shell of Turtle Way we'll be hosting a platform for workshops, presentations, and classes like yoga, edible food walks, food as medicine, dance, meditation, printmaking, painting, gardening, & self sustainable architecture.

Most of our classes will be on a sliding scale pay system as we'd like to make them accessible to as many people as possible. In addition we will have volunteer and scholarships opportunities available for those in need.

Your donations assist us in bringing unique teachers here to facilitate the classes, to provide the space, and the ability to create broader community awareness by promoting these events. Funding also goes towards our scholarship programs designated for those that would like to participate but can't afford to pay.
